For the past few weeks, I have been searching online for ideas on how to store my nail polishes. My main concern when looking at different options was the durability of the rack. I wanted something that I could possibly hang on my wall and not have to worry about it falling apart.
Most of the nail polish racks that I looked at were either acrylic or made from foam board. I don't like the look of the acrylic racks and I don't think they are worth the price for the size. The foam boards are a quick and cheap way to store nail polishes but don't seem durable at all.
I eventually came across this video on youtube of a diy nail polish rack that I loved. This was the best idea I found because the nail polish rack looks good, you can paint it any color you want, you can make it any size you want, and it is extremely durable.
The day after I saw this video I went to Lowe's and Home Depot to pick up everything I needed to make my nail polish rack. If you don't have any of the materials (not including a drill or nail gun) then this will cost around $40.
This nail polish rack can hold around 80 nail polishes.
Size: 26in tall x 19 1/2in wide
Materials I used:
4- 1 x 2 x 4 Poplar wood(or any other wood you prefer)- around $3.20 each at Lowe's
Nail gun (or hammer) and finishing nails OR drill and screws
Sandpaper
Primer
Spray Paint- $4.97 at Home Depot. I used Rust-Oleum Satin Black
Wood Filler- $3.00 at Lowe's. I used Elmer's Carpenter's Wood Filler
Hanging hooks
These are not all of my nail polishes but if you have any questions or want to know what a certain nail polish color is then let me know.
