Julep Maven

A good friend of mine recently introduced me to Julep.   If you haven't heard of Julep before, they have a monthly subscription program called Julep Maven.  On the website, you take a style quiz and Julep provides you with a selection of nail polishes and related products.  If you are not happy with the products they pick, you have the option of changing your selection or skipping that month free of charge.  Each Maven box you receive is $19.99 a month with free shipping for over $40 worth of products.  By the way, I was not sent this box for free.

Heather-The website describes this color as "chic platinum greige with a metallic glow" with a metallic finish.

Mandy-This color is showing up more orange in the picture but it's a bright coral-pink with a creme finish.  This one is my favorite out of the three.

Helena-Julep describes this color as an ultra saturated fuchsia with a semi-matte creme finish.
Positives:
-These nail polishes have a pretty good consistency.  They were all pretty opaque with 2 coats.
-All 3 of these nail polishes lasted around 3 days with no chipping.
-Julep has a wide variety of colors to choose from.

Now to the negative side.  An issue that really isn't important to me but may be to some people is the lid not lining up to the container when you tighten it.  Also, the design on the bottle is weird.  On one side, the bottle is painted black with a small line of the nail polish color showing through.  I'm not sure what the point in that is since you can see the color of the nail polish clearly on the other 3 sides.

If you prefer a large brush then you may not like these nail polishes.

The worst thing about these nail polishes is the price.  They are $14.00 for 0.27 oz which is crazy.  It's not an outrageous price but these nail polishes contain about half the amount of product as most other brands.  For a comparison....OPI is $8.50 for 0.5 oz, Butter London is $14.00 for 0.4 oz, NARS is $18.00 for 0.5 oz, Essie is $8.00 for 0.5 oz, etc.

Overall, consistency and longevity are the two most important things I look for in a nail polish.   Even though these nail polishes have longevity and great consistency, I doubt I would purchase these nail polishes again.  I'm pretty sure I could find a similar color that is just as good if not better than this brand for a better price.
